The automobile business was introduced to the Kia Sportage in 2009 but it soon made it to the top of the crossover models in the SUV compact division. Looks is not every thing the Kia Sportage has going for it, they have 176 horse power engines along with a two.four liter four cylinder engine. Most of the time, they are equipped with a six speed manual transmission. The new SX has a new 200 horsepower engine and has a four cylinder super charged engine.

The newest versions have a pretty decent fuel economy and most get somewhere about 22 miles per gallon when driving in the city and about 31 miles per gallon for highway driving. These are the stats for the totally automatic engine. The all-wheel drive models drop these averages to 21 mpg in the city and 28 mpg for the highway. These are not poor numbers for a compact SUV. It is obvious to the automobile industry that the new Kia Sportage is the future of SUVs.
